This post was supposed to be a bit different. I was planning to write about my bicycle and how nice it was to have; unfortunately, it was stolen last night. Even though it was locked, someone took it while I was having dinner with my coworkers. It is a shame, and it may result in paying for the lost bike. Evidently, it is a rite of passage here. Nonetheless, when I had a bike, it was awesome. On Tuesday we had the day off for Eid al-Adha, a Muslim holiday, so I took the bike for a ride. I was trying to go to the
Japanese garden to see the fall foliage, but got a bit lost and ended up in the dunes north of town. It was a bit cold and drizzly, but the rain held off for the most part. I also came upon some kind of water treatment plant and monastery. It was nice to get outside and get some exercise.
